Overview

Design and manage transit architecture projects, focusing on stations and related facilities.

Tasks

-Determine collectively with multiple design disciplines, the technical approach and design criteria for projects. -Review shop drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs). -Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction. -Perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis. -Lead and coach architectural staff. -Develop design details, plans and specifications. -Use computer software as a design tool for solving complex architectural problems. -Contribute new designs, or techniques that are of material significance in the solution of important problems. -Serve as quality control reviewer.

What You Bring

-Professional Licensure and Society Memberships -Experience with OpenBuildings, Rhino, 3-D Max, Sketch-up is a plus and LEED Accreditation is also a plus. -Excellent design, technical detailing, and strong presentation skills, both verbal and visual, are essential. -Minimum of 12 years of experience as a project architect working within the rail/transit sector. -Transit Architecture design experience including station and related facilities is required. -Remain current in codes and technologies appropriate to the architecture discipline including IBC, NFPA, etc. -Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite are required. -Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch preferred) -Experience in the transportation sector is required. -Registered Licensed Architect in the State of New York is preferred.
