The Role

Overview

Install, maintain and repair LV overhead power lines, handling emergencies and safety.

Tasks

-Diagnose and rectify faults in the electrical distribution system. -Communicate effectively to ensure work is completed efficiently and safely. -Adhere to health and safety regulations and work procedures. -Maintain and repair high-voltage and low-voltage overhead lines. -Working on Service diversions, new connections and fuse upgrades. -Erect and string overhead power lines. -Install poles, towers, crossarms, and other support structures. -Conduct risk assessments and ensure safety barriers and warning signs are in place. -Respond to outages and emergencies caused by weather events or equipment failure. -Replace damaged lines, poles, and insulators. -Work as part of a team, often coordinating with engineers, technicians, and ground crews. -Work in adverse conditions to restore power.
