Overview
Lead underground transmission engineer designing, managing, and delivering 2.4kV‑345kV projects.

Tasks
-Prepare calculations and assist with equipment specifications, such as cable pulling calculations, voltage drop, pole loading. -Determine construction feasibility through route studies, conflict analysis, and construction cost estimating. -Leverage commercially available simulation software and other tools to evaluate different scenarios and make informed recommendations to the client. -Produce reports and visualizations to communicate technical results and interpretation of trends; effectively communicate findings and recommendations to all areas of the business. -Prepare proposals, engineering/project cost estimates, and execution schedules. -Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members. -Lead design teams of 2 to 10 engineers and designers and work closely with construction, procurement and permitting teams to execute underground transmission and distribution construction projects. -Work closely with the project team to ensure that projects are following internal QA/QC guidelines. -Perform QA/QC reviews of studies, reports, and construction design packages. -Prepare and develop distribution and transmission voltage construction packages for underground projects, including manhole and equipment installation, conduit and duct bank design, feeder replacement, cable replacement, and new feeder design. -Develop routing analysis for the design of low to high voltage distribution and transmission lines using CADD/GIS design and mapping software. -Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations for overhead and underground electric facilities on public and private utility systems. -Work closely with the project team to ensure deliverables and services are being provided to client’s satisfaction. -Regularly meet and correspond with clients, subcontractors, or outside personnel. -Support business development efforts with new clients across North America. -Support thought leadership including conference attendance, marketing and other internal initiatives. -Work closely with local and national leadership to develop new clients and continue building relationships with existing clients.

What You Bring
-Understanding of power flow. -Capable of devising new, more efficient approaches to solving problems and processes. -Minimum 7 years of underground distribution and/or transmission civil engineering/design experience. -Familiarity with topographic mapping & surveying, and subsurface utility engineering/utility locating procedures and practices. -Experience with various underground design tools, as well as CADD and GIS to aide in design. -Familiarity with NESC code for electrical design and construction guidelines. -Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus. -Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program. -Professional Engineer (PE) License Preferred -Strong knowledge of overhead and underground construction methods and electrical system equipment. -Experience conducting underground field inspections. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Knowledge regarding easements, right-of-way, and permitting. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Master of Science degree in Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience. -Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize work.

-Compensation Range $110,000 - $175,000 The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location.
