Tasks
-Provide commitment to excellence in Health & Safety (H&S) in design, complying fully with complying fully with the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM) and all other relevant H&S legislation. -Work as part of a team to support project delivery function, embracing the ethos of a “one team” culture. -Conduct regular meetings with project delivery teams to allocate resources, monitor the plan and adjust as necessary in consultation with the project delivery teams. -Ensure Glanua & the Clients’ Technical Requirements are met throughout the design. -Be involved in the growth and development of the company including expansion of the direct delivery model. Tasks include the development of business cases for onboarding staff, gap analysis of required resources, recruitment and structuring. -Part of a multi-disciplined team of engineers responsible to produce design deliverables for water, wastewater and process treatment plants. -Monitor and update Design Change Control. -Ensure Design, Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to. -Produce mechanical design outputs as and when required. -Provide mentorship to junior / graduate mechanical design engineers -Project managing third party designs and providing design assistance to installation and commissioning teams. Liaising with clients and subcontractors. -Production of procurement specifications for mechanical equipment; hydraulic calculations and production of detailed design construction drawings. -Monitoring of design delivery performance and efficiency, adjusting and reacting as necessary to ensure targets are achieved and ensuring the MIDP is kept up to date. -Responsible for assisting in all aspects of mechanical design from site surveys of existing assets, optioneering, feasibility studies, detailed design and tender pricing. -Liaise between Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil & Structural Designers -Provide robust leadership and a sounding board for supporting site teams.

What You Bring
-Ability to manage design delivery and project manage -Leadership skills to manage and motivate individuals to consistently deliver -Strong communication skills to interact with other engineering disciplines and clients -Water and Wastewater design experience highly desirable. -Flexibility to travel within the UK (including Northern Ireland) and Ireland (where our head office is based) would be advantageous to help support our overall workload. -Ability to work as part of a team in project delivery and provide input at team meetings. -Willingness to contribute to and develop technical knowledge networks -Chartered membership of relevant professional institution an advantage but not essential providing the candidate is working towards either incorporated or chartered status. -Good working knowledge of MS packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. -Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential. -Ability to produce clear and concise mechanical design deliverables across all design stages of a project -Ability to use own initiative, problem solve and adjust as issues arise. -Commercial experience is desirable. -An in-depth knowledge of the layout and interconnectivity of typical water and wastewater treatment works processes and equipment including pumping systems -Strong team leader & decision maker with proven experience essential. -Strong communication skills with a high level of motivation.
