The Role

Overview

Assist in bridge design, calculations, CAD drafting, and structural analysis for projects.

Tasks

-Demonstrate the ability to prepare general engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy. -Work within MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D to successfully complete projects. -Exercise judgment on details of work and work under direct supervision on all aspects of tasks assigned. -Perform structural calculations on a particular part of a project under direction of supervisor. -Acquire knowledge and develop basic skills in bridge engineering. -Apply awareness of structural codes (IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, AISC, AASHTO) to designs. -Perform basic concrete and steel design for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and miscellaneous highway related structures. -Apply learned techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks. -Assist with other project related tasks such as structural inspections, report writing, permit applications, and CAD work.

What You Bring

-Utilize structural software at a basic level (MathCAD, Enercalc, Midas, STAAD, etc.). -Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering required. -Engineer-in-training (EIT) certification is preferred. -Increasing proficiency with Civil 3D and MicroStation CAD software is preferred. -Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. -Ability to learn and apply technical skills and knowledge. -Ability to effectively collaborate and contribute as part of a team.
