Tasks

-Attends professional development activities. -Develops construction progress reports. -Works closely with other architects, engineers and designers, as well as other internal and external team members to ensure a coordinated, constructible and complete design. -Identifies and resolves non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys. -Coordinates with construction trade partners, vendors and manufacturers. -Provides mentorship to less experienced Electrical Engineers and/or Designers. -Interfaces with client and external partners. -Leads a team of discipline staff in the execution of electrical systems design and engineering for advanced and complex projects in conformance with code requirements and in coordination with other design disciplines. -Utilizes various platforms to execute work, such as Microsoft Office products and available BIM software. -Works with a Project Manager on proposal development, designs task identification, man-hour planning and project scheduling for the electrical discipline scope of work on intermediate level projects. -Develops intermediate internal electrical design and engineering training presentations. -Plans and directs work and manages a project budget from an electrical design perspective on small, medium and large complex projects. -Conducts quality checking of documents for complex projects (e.g., technical verification of design calculations, documentation, design approaches) and drives overall project quality. -Develops narratives, reports and construction drawing packages and writes construction specifications on large projects of advanced complexity with no oversight. -Leads systems design programming and master planning on advanced projects with minimal to no support from Senior Engineer. -Provides lead and advanced support for construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development and construction progress reports.

-Proficient at advanced electrical lighting, power and special systems design calculations without supervision -May work on one or more projects simultaneously as directed by a Supervisor -Proficient with advanced coordination with construction trade partners, vendors and manufacturers -Ability to travel for client development and project execution, and internal and external training opportunities -ABET-accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Engineering Technology -Advanced experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and providing support of field reporting -Professional Engineer registration in good standing -Advanced experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing electrical lighting, power and special systems design -Advanced knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments -Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite -Advanced experience with using and applying applicable building codes -Relevant design firm experience -Relevant AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) firm experience -Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD -10 years of experience -Proficient with advanced internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination -Intermediate experience with troubleshooting issues with electrical and systems -Advanced experience with using and applying electrical codes and standards (NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, and/or IEEE)
