Tasks
Responsible for all engineering duties and ensuring any engineers under their control complete their duties. Educate and mentor the engineering team. They will also input into RAMS, temporary works briefs, ITP's, weekly progress and planning updates, NCR's, TQs and Early Warnings. Be aware of your own and the engineers' responsibilities within the SMP By utilising the specialist skills of each business unit within VolkerWessels UK, VolkerStevin are able to ensure our staff provide unrivalled resources and expertise to our clients. -Raise, complete and close-out NCR's -Keep accurate records- diaries, photographs, marked up drawings, etc and ensure engineering team do the same. -Understand the project quality management plan and the roles and responsibility detailed within it -Ensure timely and accurate dimensional control for the construction of the works. -Ensure quality checks are carried out and records kept -Produce and implement the Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for your section of the works. -Raise Requests For Information (RFIs) and Technical Queries (TQs) -Support the overall project quality goals agreed in the SMP. -Be aware and involved in the correct implementation of the quality management system, where it affects your daily activities. -Establish accurate and clear setting-out on the ground. -Maintain the long-term setting out. -Develop the short to medium term programme for your section of the project. -Set-out in advance so that time is available to carry out any secondary checks. -Ensure that accurate setting-out and control is provided and checked (VS direct or subcontractors): -Be aware of responsibilities from the Quality policies and support the implementation of Quality Ripple: -Communicate clearly to the subcontract personnel operatives what the setting-out is and how it should be used. -Manage and monitor subcontractors progress. -Maintain project stations. -Maintain and collate quality records -Input into production of as-built documentation from site. -Maintain up-to-date progress records for your section of the works. -Attend collaborative planning sessions as required. -Assist in the management of the SMP: -Ensure the short term construction programmes are fully understood and followed. Brief the engineers on their relevant section of works ensuring timely setting out is provided.
