The Role

Overview

Lead a waste management team, ensure safety and meet production targets at SUEZ Redruth.

Tasks

-Promote an operating process that keeps focus on health and safety. -Ensure all work equipment within the area is used and maintained in a safe manner, reporting all defects are reported and a high standard of housekeeping is maintained. -Ensure the segregation of all recyclable materials is maximised at the facility. -Carry out toolbox talks for safe systems and safety alerts. -Assist supervisors with the day to day performance management of employees. -Carry out waste acceptance checks on incoming material and carry out rejections as required in line with that specific customers contract. -Maintaining shift logs and providing daily feedback on performance to teams. -Control housekeeping activities and ensure all are carried out safely; conforming to the safe systems of work and company policies. -Assist supervisors with employee inductions, briefings and training. -Assist supervisors with weekly audits, action plans and oversee corrective actions. -Carry out 5’s audits and SIM observations to promote and maintain the safety & lean culture on site.

What You Bring

-Candidate will work towards completion of a COTC waste management qualification which will increase their pay by £1.50ph -To hold mobile plant licenses and be computer literate. -You will either already hold or be expected to achieve the IOSH Managing Safely Qualification -Working pattern fixed 5 days on 2 off, exact days TBC, working weekends to be expected.
