Disassemble, inspect, wind/re-wind, test and maintain electric motors and brakes

Tasks

-Open the Motor terminal boxes. -Check the tightness of terminals. -Remove old windings from stators or rotors. -Disassemble electric motors carefully for repair or maintenance. -Inspect industrial and automotive braking systems for wear and defects. -Conduct safety checks to ensure brakes meet operational standards. -Check the foundation for any abnormality. -Repair or replace brake pads, shoes, drums, discs, and related hardware. -Ensure compliance with industry and safety standards related to motors and brakes. -Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents during repair and testing. -Inspect motor components for damage, wear, and electrical faults. -Check the Motor cooling fan for any abnormality. -Check the tightness of Earth connections. -Maintain accurate records of motor winding and brake repairs. -Use instruments like megohmmeters, multimeters, and growler testers. -Perform preventive maintenance on motors to enhance reliability. -Perform precise winding and rewinding of coils using correct wire gauge and turns. -Ensure motor windings meet required electrical standards and specifications. -Measure motor winding resistances and winding insulation resistances and record the values. -Balance rotors and perform alignment checks. -Check the Position encoder & its cable condition (if available) -Test winding continuity, insulation resistance, and electrical integrity. -Repair or replace damaged motor parts such as bearings, brushes, and insulators. -Ensure proper insulation and correct coil arrangement to meet motor specifications. -Test brake performance and adjust components for optimal operation. -Diagnose faults in braking systems and recommend corrective actions.

What You Bring

-5 years ‘of experience in plant or similar for Motor winding and brake maintenance. -Service hydraulic, pneumatic, or electric brake systems as applicable. -DIPLOMA or ITI in Electrical Minimum
