Tasks

-Perform analysis and produce high-quality reports -Develop specialist expertise in shipyard design and contribute to related technical areas as required. -Mentor and train colleagues as needed -Foster a harmonious working environment and contribute to effective teamwork -Contribute to the full range of services offered by FMI, and support wider Haskoning activities when required -Operate company systems and tools as required -Develop and expand the technical capabilities of FMI -Contribute to and/or lead business development activities, including proposal writing -Support the development of FMI’s presence and operations in Australia -Conduct research into shipyard-related topics -Manage one or more key FMI client accounts -Promote the company’s work through technical publications and conference papers -Manage others or work independently to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standard -Liaise and collaborate with the existing Haskoning team in Sydney, primarily composed of civil engineers and environmental specialists

What You Bring

-Travel within Australia and internationally as required -You have a membership (full or associate) of a professional institution(s) -You have experience in ship, submarine and/or yacht construction, repair, or shipyard operations (including offshore and shipbuilding processes). -You are a chartered engineer or working towards becoming chartered -You are energetic, motivated, and able to work independently or collaboratively within a team. -You are highly numerate with strong analytical skills and computer literacy. -You have specialist skills in steel ship fabrication and consolidation and would like to transfer into consultancy -You have a degree or diploma in naval architecture, marine engineering or a related discipline -You are fluent in written and spoken English. -You are willing and able to travel within Australia and internationally as required. -You have a minimum ten years’ experience working in shipyards including some experience of shipyard or project management -You are already an experienced consultant or would like to transfer to this sector (training and development will be provided). -You will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a NV1 or above should apply. -You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong report writing abilities.
