Overview
Conducts CDL training, classroom and behind‑wheel, ensures DOT compliance

Tasks
-Performs corrective driver re-training and road tests. -Can work extra hours as required to meet deadlines. -Ensures DOT compliance using Driver Qualification software and the Clearing House Registry. -Maintain all DQ Files. -Assists the Safety Manager in ordering safety supplies. -Attends Roadside Violation and other Vehicle Post Incident reviews. -Responsible for sending CDL List to audit employees in UKG. -Coordinates with the Safety Manager to design and execute the behind the wheel portion of the certification program. -Maintains up to date knowledge of best practices, standards, guidelines, technology, and equipment. -Leads the overall CDL certification program for students at Superior Pipeline Services -Coordinates with supervisors and employees to ensure that required field training is implemented. -Coordinates with supervisors for the selection of students and communication of course completion -Schedules and provides Driver Qualification training for new hires, and current employees on an as-needed basis. -Facilitates and manages the behind the wheel portion of the training program. -Facilitates the required classroom training for students seeking the CDL licensing. -May be required to travel between Organizations to facilitate in class and behind the wheel training. -Communicates and represents the organization to clients, the public, government, and other external sources as needed. -Conducts driving evaluations in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. -Prepares and maintains facilitator materials as needed, session plans, visual aids, and handouts for training sessions. -Track all Driver’s Qualifications using a 3 party database.

What You Bring
-Willingness and ability to learn additional skills and keep up to date on regulations and certification requirements. -An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis. -Advanced FMCSA regulation understanding -Experience in the utility construction industry is preferred. -Skilled at developing and maintaining good working relationships with employees and Front-Line Supervisors. -Basic Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, ect) -Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers. -Ability to conduct training protocols by description based on safety, quality, and health programs, procedures, and practices consistent with OSHA, DOT, insurance carriers, and customer requirements. -Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus -Can work in a fast-paced environment to complete tasks and assigned projects -Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy. -Completion of the CDL instructor’s course with 2 years minimum behind the wheel CDL Experience. -Two (2+) plus years’ experience as a Technical Trainer is preferred but not required -High school diploma or equivalent desired -Communicates well with students, other instructors, and supervisors. -Valid CDL license -Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment. -Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions. -Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen. -Conducts knowledge and performance post training field evaluations as needed.
