Develops detailed mechanical cost estimates and leads estimating team for HVAC/Plumbing/Fire projects.

Tasks

-Assisting with the development of bid packages -Participating in Preconstruction software development, maintenance, and historical costs -Evaluate building systems for cost effectiveness and constructability -Collaborating with Preconstruction Leadership -Identifying risk items and the associated order of magnitude -Assisting with Preconstruction resource management -Contributing to cost savings exercises -Leading and training Estimating personnel -Assisting with the development and utilization of the Preconstruction processes, standards and tools -Developing accurate, detailed construction cost estimates at progressive design stages -Collaborating and assisting the project operations team -Assisting with the project construction budget -Collaborating with designers and clients -Assisting with project procurement and buyout -Assisting with Subcontractor and Vendor relationships -Assisting the Pricing Lead and participating in estimate review meetings -Developing associated scope of work clarifications -Assisting with Preconstruction-Operations Turnover Meetings

What You Bring

-Self-perform experience -Strong subcontractor & vendor relationships -HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection Mechanical Estimating experience, preparing quantity surveys and cost estimates, requiring complete knowledge of labor, material, equipment and subcontractor costs -Travel as required - 10%-20% -Ability to develop a detailed estimate a conceptual level with minimal design -Revit/Navisworks, 3D model experience a plus -Experience in multiple markets including Manufacturing, Consumer Product Goods, Mission Critical, Municipal, Education, Federal, Healthcare, and Water/Wastewater -Estimating software experience required, Accubid and Beck Destini Estimator preferred -Ability to forecast design and materials at a conceptual level -Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent and 5 years of estimating experience preferred or 15 years relevant experience in the construction industry -Design-Build and CMAR project delivery method experience -Strong understanding of material specifications to make informed recommendations
