  • Continuously review work and processes to improve efficiency
  • Assist leadership in staff performance evaluations as requested
  • Takes personal responsibility and ownership of one’s work and self-initiates corrective action when needed
  • Assist in coordinating tasks for design team and reviews work for acceptance
  • Conduct peer reviews of other projects
  • Assist in managing and directing design team members to a successful project completion
  • Coordinating structural design with architectural and other engineering disciplines
  • Assist in planning and leading structural design work sessions, both internal and external
  • Engage counterparts with external project contacts and develops and grows networking relationships

  • Perform structural detailing with assistance of senior engineers as need
  • Assists team members and senior engineers in development or oversight of following as directed:
  • Responsible for all technical aspects of assigned tasks and projects
  • Perform structural analysis and design through hand calculations or computer modeling, as
  • Assist in developing work plans for project pursuits
  • Develop and present content for internal technical training
  • Manage other design professionals as assigned
  • Participate in company committees for development of processes and maintaining standards
  • Assist with creating project work plan including tasks with budgeted time for each task and assists in managing team workload
  • Attend networking events, open houses, and industry events
  • Perform work generally under the direction of the licensed professional engineer who is stamping the project and in concert with senior engineers
  • Support other senior engineers on larger projects
  • Perform site observations and prepares written reports of observations as directed

  • Able to identify and resolve potential problems by timely gathering and analyzing information
  • Must have experience working with concrete, post-tensioned concrete, steel, masonry, and wood
  • MS in Architectural or Civil Engineering (with structural emphasis) from an EAC/ABET accredited program, preferred
  • Must have been conferred a PE license in state of residence (structural designation)
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
  • Must have strong working knowledge of applicable building and reference codes
  • Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • When visiting projects must be in compliance with OSHA requirements
  • Remains positive during times of adversity
  • This position may require occasionally air and over-the-road travel. Including attending early morning or evening events outside of 8-5 hours
  • Expert in Bentley RAM Structural System or Tekla Structural Designer (TSD) and related program modules
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds via dolly) of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or
  • Displays the ability to follow detailed procedures to ensure accuracy of work
  • Travel is required to project job sites and to the Companies various offices, as needed
  • BS in Architectural or Civil Engineering (with structural emphasis) from an EAC/ABET accredited program, required
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience (may be reduced with MS degree and/or SE license)
  • Autodesk Revit and BIM 360
  • Close vision (Clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision. (Clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (Ability to identify and distinguish colors)
  • Demonstrates a sound working knowledge of current role and the impact the role has on other business functions with the organization
  • Inclination to be a team player who shares key information with others involved in a project and with colleagues
  • Author reports of diagnostic investigations and other studies as directed
  • Displays ability to set high standards and demonstrate excellence, ensuring quality in every aspect of work performed
  • Continuous sitting, standing, walking, using stairs, hearing, talking, bending, crouching, and working closely with others
  • Proactively solve problems without immediately looking for outside help
  • Successful completion of the NCEES Structural Engineering exam (16 hours) preferred
  • Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously
