Sales Engineer

Overview

Provide engineering support to sales reps for custom HVAC design and sales.

Tasks

-Confers with peers in various departments including sales, engineering, and fabrication shop to provide technical information. -Analyzes performance requirements and design configurations of air handlers based on schedules and specifications set forth by customer and/or engineers. -Prepares scope letters for presentation to reps and customers -Prepares detailed design layouts and quotations for components and engineering requirements for air handlers -Develop an understanding of optimal AHU selection and pricing. -Coordinate and liaise with Applications Engineers or shop on projects as required. -Specifies components, materials and capacities of air handlers. -Participates in meetings, seminars and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in the HVAC industry. -Negotiates price, terms and conditions with outside vendors used to meet projects needs and requirements.

What You Bring

-Ability to read detailed documents such as specifications and equipment schedules. -General knowledge of database software, design/selection software, bill of materials, spreadsheet software, and word processing software -Ability to establish rapport and develop relationships with representatives and vendors. -Ability to communicate, both orally and written, with customers in a technical manner. -Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with Mechanical emphasis from a four-year college or university.
