The Role

Overview

Senior Engineer/Architect leads design and oversight of WMATA infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure timely and accurate completion. -Support construction and inspection teams by addressing field-related technical issues and providing design clarifications. -Collaborate with WMATA and project stakeholders to ensure design intent, quality, and performance expectations are met. -Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership to project teams and junior staff. -Prepare, evaluate, and coordinate technical reports, drawings, and specifications in compliance with applicable codes and standards. -Participate in design review meetings, field visits, and coordination sessions with multidisciplinary teams. -Lead and oversee the design, analysis, and review of engineering or architectural projects within WMATA’s infrastructure.

What You Bring

-Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in infrastructure, transit, or transportation projects. -Experience with WMATA or similar transit agencies highly preferred. -Proficient in relevant design software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or similar). -Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Registered Architect (R.A.) license required. -Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred). -Strong understanding of design codes, standards, and regulations related to civil, structural, or architectural design. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach to project delivery.
