Tasks

-Mentor and train other staff -Employee may be asked to walk on uneven terrain -May work in extreme weather conditions -Independently performs surveying assignments, making exact measurements, and providing data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation and dimension of land or land features -Operates and maintains all instruments and measuring devices including levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors -Bend, squat, dig monument holes, pound in stakes and rebar monuments -Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment -Routinely proposes and produces more effective ways to accomplish assignments. -Download and upload survey data to data collectors and office computers -May assist in preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD software -May lift and carry up to 50 pounds, hike up and down steep slopes carrying up to 50 pounds of survey equipment -Assist with appropriate administrative and project support tasks supporting the needs of the project team and office. -Carry and use brush cutting equipment -Productively collaborates with others and leads or encourages teams to achieve success and camaraderie amongst each other. -Complete assignments on-time, within budget, and with highest level of quality.

-Good written and verbal communication skills -Working knowledge of surveying -Ability to work well in a team environment -Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process. -Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations. -Minimum 3 years land surveying experience -Knowledge of Trimble field equipment and data collector software -High School diploma or GED required -Valid Driver’s License -Highly motivated -May drive survey vehicle -Basic math skills -Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, type/key-in data -The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities -Ability to operate Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble GPS equipment, TSC3 data collectors, and digital levels, and other related equipment
