Tasks

-Design modifications to existing equipment, systems, structures, and components -Prepare and present project documents including calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports -Design mechanical systems, structures, and components -Review designs to ensure fit, function, and accuracy of engineering -Coordinate and provide engineering support to the shop employees -Ensure compliance with safety standards related to system, structures, and components -Work with vendors to acquire & specify off the shelf components -Perform stress & fatigue calculations by hand and with the use of Finite Element software -Ensure the final solution complies with both customer requirements and internal design standards -Test/Troubleshoot mechanical systems

What You Bring

-Demonstrate creativity and strategic thinking in anticipating and solving engineering problems, developing standards, and determining project objectives and requirements -Strong project management skills -Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering; emphasis on machine design is essential -The ability to become a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) within 2 years preferred -Intermittent travel as required to project sites for on-site engineering support -Experience with power transmission components (bearings, couplings, gear reducers, etc.), general machine design, and fluid systems a plus -Additional Beneficial Skills: Autodesk Inventor/Vault, FEA, Fabrication Drawing Development, GD&T, Welding Specifications, Document Control, Structural Steel, and Steel Fabrication -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills -Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
