The Role

Overview

Assist licensed electricians with residential/commercial electrical installations.

Tasks

-Install, replace, and troubleshoot electrical components, including plugs, switches, and lighting fixtures. -Splice, join, and connect wires to fixtures and components to form circuits. -Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system following installation, replacement, or repair. -Assist in diagnosing faults in electrical and electronic systems and replace faulty components as directed. -Assist in the installation and maintenance of electrical distribution systems in residential and commercial settings. -Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and code specifications to determine wiring layouts. -Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition. -Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). -Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment. -Use of ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment to access work areas. -Pull wire through conduits and through holes in walls and floors.

What You Bring

-Good physical condition and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces. -Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and safety regulations. -Currently registered as a Level 4 or 5 Electrical Apprentice. -Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. -Proven experience in residential and commercial electrical work. -Exposure to varying weather conditions when working on outdoor projects. -Valid and up-to-date certifications in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Fall Arrest. -Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from licensed electricians. -Adherence to safety protocols to minimize risk of injury. -Completed intermediate in-school training. -Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is an asset.
