Overview
Design and deliver rail infrastructure projects as a civil engineer.

Tasks
-Can deliver on time, within budget and to the quality required -Contributing to the preparation of bids and the general work-winning function. -To work in a team, producing technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements, working unsupervised and supervising more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks. -Managing a small, locally based, single-discipline technical team and taking responsibility for the delivery of the workload. -The preparation and checking of designs, calculations, drawings and documentation as part of the production of scheme deliverables that satisfy the overarching criteria of quality, cost and programme. Overseeing the actions of more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks and taking responsibility for their actions. -Keep up to date with industry best practice and where appropriate, apply best practice within the team -Liaising with client and supplier representatives at the peer level, attending progress meetings, responding to queries, etc.

What You Bring
-A good understanding of DMRB, other national standards, best practice guidance, local standards etc. -Be confident to work under minimum supervision and competent to check the work of others and supervise less experienced or junior staff -The ability to support the preparation of briefs for fee quotes for the delivery of services when required. -Relevant experience in civil engineering within rail sector, the ability to work in a commercial and customer focused way which achieves programme, meets performance targets and generates income -A good understanding of the CDM regulations and their relevance to Rail design -A Degree/Masters qualification in a relevant discipline
