The Role
Overview
Operate and set up high-speed steel slitting equipment, ensuring safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities

Tasks
-Perform advanced setup and calibration of all equipment. -Inspect materials for quality issues before, during, and after production. -Observe all safety and LOTO rules to operate equipment efficiently and effectively. -Complete reports related to production, changeovers, and scrap material. -Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain clean and safe work areas. -Diagnose equipment and quality problems while minimizing scrap and delays. -Participate in continuous improvement programs to enhance efficiency and quality. -Maintain equipment tooling and tools necessary for job completion. -Assist maintenance with repairs and preventive maintenance (PM) of equipment. -Record and report deficiencies in quality to supervisors or the quality department.

What You Bring
-Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles for support over time without fatigue. -Technical Skills: Ability to read and write English; maintain production records and logs; perform basic math including addition, subtraction, decimals, and fractions; experience with measuring devices such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers; ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and other necessary equipment. -Ability to remain stationary for several hours when necessary. -Additional Qualifications: Regular, full-time, predictable attendance; commitment to lead and promote safe work practices per regulatory and company policy. -Constant movement and use of limbs; requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina. -Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull; must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. -Ability to stand for 10–12 hours. -Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment. -Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, ability to work independently, strong problem-solving skills. -Experience: Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
