Overview

Lead design and delivery of overhead transmission projects from concept to construction.

Tasks

-Provide design oversight and quality reviews for complex drawing packages ensuring client and code requirements are met for the project. -Oversee creation of computer models of overhead electric transmission lines and structures in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and TOWER. -Communicate resource needs and ensure project schedules and budgets are maintained. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Present to management, analyze PLS-CADD reports, formulate design aids, and draft reports using Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Yammer). -Lead a collaborative team to understand client needs, prepare deliverables, and provide project updates. -Oversee assembly of drawings, specifications, and design criteria for the procurement of tubular steel structures, lattice towers, and transmission line hardware. Review the vendor supplied calculations and drawings for compliance. -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Visit construction sites, meet in client offices, and travel out of town to tour supplier facilities as required by projects and assignments. -Establish design criteria based on industry, company, and/or client standards. -Oversee development of comprehensive construction packages for internal construction crews and client contractors that include plan & profiles, staking sheets, stringing tables, bill of materials, structure details, phasing drawings, foundation drawings, and installation specifications.

What You Bring

-Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Travel in the U.S. and internationally (5-15%). -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field -Fast-paced office environment; must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously manage a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively; regularly sit, stand, walk and talk and listen; occasionally lift and move objects up to 30 pounds. -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment -Professional Engineering (PE) License strongly preferred -Regular, reliable attendance -Knowledge of MFAD, LPILE, and geotechnical recommendation application for foundation design preferred -Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole; PLS TOWER experience preferred -At least 5 years’ experience designing and engineering transmission lines between 69kV and 345kV preferred
