The Role

Overview

First point of contact for incoming lab samples, logging, customer service, and coordination.

Tasks

-Workplace Safety & Waste Disposal: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper disposal of sample waste (e.g., soil jars, water bottles, metals waste, solvent waste). -Quality & Compliance: Complete all Quality Control records in accordance with the Quality System. -Sample Management: Unpack, check, and accurately log samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), ensuring all information is recorded correctly. -Logistics & Supply Management: Prepare and manage sample containers and project supply orders to ensure laboratory efficiency. -Lab Coordination: Work closely with laboratory staff to prioritise and promptly pass on urgent samples. -Customer Service: Respond to general customer enquiries via phone and email, including booking couriers, organising bottle orders, and providing advice on sample containers and preservatives.

What You Bring

-A degree in Science with a Chemistry major is preferred -Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) -Must be available to work the 11-7pm shift -Ability to juggle competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment -Previous experience in a similar role is desirable -Exceptional attention to detail -Strong teamwork skills
