The Role

Overview

Operate scales, manage scrap metal weigh‑ins/outs, handle invoices, cash and inventory.

Tasks

-Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor -Make inventory adjustments and support administrative duties as required -Approve vendor invoices and track trucking and shipping costs for deliveries and services -Perform daily price adjustments for scrap purchased -Operate and maintain scales, ensuring accurate weighing of incoming and outgoing scrap metal and materials -Order and manage office and yard supplies (e.g., gloves, water, oil) -Process customer invoicing and track shipments to prevent over shipments -Handle cash transactions, track quantities, and reconcile cash balances daily -Maintain a clean, organized, and safe indoor work environment -Coordinate YORK1 bin pick-ups and deliveries to optimize operational efficiency

What You Bring

-Ability to manage time effectively in a variable-paced work environment -Excellent multitasking, organizational, and communication skills -Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with inventory or scrap management systems is an asset -Positive attitude, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment -Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred -Experience handling cash and basic accounting practices preferred
