Tasks

What You Bring

Travel up to 25% IME is looking for a self-motivated individual to work, under the supervision of the Geotechnical Department Director, on a wide array of geotechnical projects. This position is available in either our Cheyenne, Wyoming or Greeley Colorado office. Typical projects would include performing geotechnical and geological explorations for landfills, dams, various kinds of infrastructure (roads, bridges, waterlines, sewer), and building sites ranging from very large industrial projects, schools, to residential developments. Typically, projects are located in Wyoming; however, some travel throughout the Rocky Mountain Region is likely. Travel is dictated by our clients and projects. No sponsorship is available for this position. -The employee must be able and willing to frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. -Professional/Occupational licensure required. -Ability to coordinate personnel and clients’ schedules efficiently and cost-effectively in order to meet the needs of our clients and project budgets on multiple projects. -Ability to manage projects including meeting deadlines, reviewing other work, and writing proposals and technical reports using sound engineering practices. -Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks to completion. -Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, and drug/alcohol test. -Must have a valid driver’s license and clean record. -Bachelor's degree in appropriate engineering or science. Master's degree preferred. -Ability to become proficient in the use of laboratory and field-testing equipment and procedures. -Project/financial management ability is required. -Must be able to follow instructions, and work independently, or as part of a project team. -Ability to foster and maintain positive and effective professional relationships with clients and colleagues. -Knowledge of near surface geologic environments, with and emphasis on geotechnical engineering an hydro-geology are required. -Ability to read and comprehend technically written material. -Must have strong communication, interpersonal, and intellectual skills. -Supervisory experience preferred. -Ability and willingness to market all of IME’s services. -The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate. The noise level on field sites is often loud; the use of hearing protection may be required for extended periods. -Minimum 4-5 years of experience required post-graduation. -Become proficient with computer programs associated with MS Office Suite).
