The Role

Tasks

-Participate in job walks, pre-bid meetings, and construction networking events to uncover leads and position the company early in the project cycle. -Serve as the main technical contact for clients, answering questions and addressing concerns throughout the project life cycle. -Collaborate with estimating, project management, and design teams to ensure solutions align with operational capabilities. -Conduct site visits and client consultations to assess project requirements, including blueprints and specifications, to propose appropriate MEP solutions. -Stay current on code requirements, industry standards, and emerging technologies. -Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, architects, engineers, and owners/developers to ensure client satisfaction. -Proactively identify and pursue construction project opportunities within target commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. -Negotiate contracts and close deals by aligning technical capabilities with client needs and budget. -Support client base by preparing and delivering presentations, timely proposals, quotes and contracts for scoped work tailored to client needs. -Develop and maintain long-term relationships with contractors, consultants, developers, facility managers, and owners. -Attend industry trade shows, networking events, and client meetings to promote the company’s capabilities and brand. -Maintain accurate and up to date records of sales activities, clients contacts, and project status using CRM software. -Track project development from bid, award, and execution stages, ensuring timely follow-up and positioning.

What You Bring

-Awareness of fundamental engineering principles and how they apply to MEP systems and construction practices. -Ability to interpret construction drawings, specs, and bid documents. -In depth knowledge of MEP systems, including their design, operation, and maintenance and industry, best practices is essential. -Proven experience managing a multi-project sales pipeline with long sales cycles. -Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. -Self-motivated and organized, capable of working independently in the field. -Market Knowledge -Sales acumen -Established network of construction industry contacts in the (Region/Market). -Familiarity with various MEP products, solutions, and technologies, including HVAC systems, piping, electrical systems, and fire protection systems. -Working knowledge of estimating tools or platforms (ex: Trimble, Accubid, Bluebeam). -Experience with design-build, plan/spec, and negotiated work. -Familiarity with construction CRM platforms (es: Salesforce, Cosential, HubSpot). -3-5+ years of experience in construction sales, business development, or pre-construction, preferably within the MEP trades. -Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
