Tasks
-Organizes and conducts training to personnel on a variety of safety topics. -Assists with mentoring/training Safety Specialists as required/requested. -Conducts routine and follow-up environmental health, safety, and hazard inspections of jobsites. -Effectively identify/recognize safety hazards and advise DHG personnel on compliance and mitigation of safety/environmental deficiencies. -Effectively conducts incident investigations and root cause analysis as required. -Analyzes accident and incident reports for trends; makes recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions. -Effectively communicates with DHG personnel to ensure implementation of safety protocols/procedures/policy. -Development and implementation of site-specific safety plans/procedures and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and pre-task plans as necessary. -Responds to emergency situations involving emergency situations, accidents/incidents and prepares reports of findings and submits recommendations.

Griffin Wrecking is seeking an experienced Asbestos Site Safety Specialist who is bilingual (English and Spanish) and has their Asbestos Supervisor Certification. The position will be responsible for the implementation/enforcement and training of personnel in the corporate safety policy as well as applicable local, state, and federal safety policies/laws. This position will be required to conduct audits of multiple jobsites, write, and effectively communicate corrective actions and training to all personnel at all levels of management. This position requires a high level of independence and possesses a high level of skill/competence in all aspects of safety hazard identification/corrective actions/training. This position will also have extensive interaction with field and management personnel. Ability to conduct safety training in a variety of safety subjects. This position will also occasionally be required to assist with the training/supervision of other safety personnel. -DHG Safety Policies/Procedures as well as comprehensive knowledge of any local/state/federal laws and/or safety regulations. (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, etc.) -Skill in developing safety procedures and protocols. -Completion of safety related train-the -trainer courses related to safety topics such as confined space, fall protection, silica, etc. -Skill in performing safety inspections ensuring compliance with DHG safety policies/procedures, OSHA, EPA and any other local, state, federal safety standards. -Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, protocols, and/or procedures. -Heavy construction and demolition techniques/practices. -Possession of and/or working toward a professional safety designation (ASP, CSP, CHST, etc.) -Asbestos Supervisor trained -Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions. -Ability to frequently travel to and stay at jobsites for extended periods of time. -Bilingual - Spanish and English preferred -Asbestos Supervisor certification -Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel. -OSHA 500/510 preferred -Ability to respond to emergency situations 24 hours/day. -Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and protocols. -Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. -Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) -Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. -Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. -Bachelor's degree and or minimum of 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. -Identification of environmental hazards and ability to recommend corrective/protective measures to protect personnel. -Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution (technical colleges, etc.) that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. -Skill in performing safety inspections and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards.
