The Role
Overview
Locate and mark underground utilities, operate vacuum excavation, and document findings.

Tasks
-Target candidate may be required to operate and maintain a vacuum excavation truck and related equipment safely and efficiently -Perform all task assignments using required industry standards -Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting -Accurately record and report your work each day on the forms provided -Communicate your work flow needs to your team and to your supervisor -Participate in cross - training as requested to build a stronger team -Reviews jobsite safety daily and takes immediate action to document and resolve issues -Submits accurate time sheets, mileage and expense reports on time each week -Adheres to project scope, schedule, and budget -Accurately records and reports daily forms per project requirements -Communicates effectively with client, contractor, staff, and supervisor -Inspect and correct your own work before turning it in

What You Bring
-Understanding basic traffic control and the hazards associated with working in and around traffic and follow safety precautions -Must possess leadership and mentoring skills. -Have a basic knowledge of various underground utilities and able to identify surface features associated with various utilities -High School Diploma is required. -Current Commercial Driver’s License is a plus -Ability to perform some equipment maintenance tasks a plus -Possess the ability to designate/locate a variety of underground utilities, create legible field sketches, simple mathematics, field measurements, document daily activities, and perform records research. Perform other duties as assigned -Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience. -Experience with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is preferred -NULCA or other certification is a plus -Ability to follow instructions, possess the ability to be trained, mentored and have a positive can-do attitude are necessities -High School Diploma or GED. -Proactively resolves problems at the lowest level -A valid current driver’s license and have the ability to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical card for Commercial Motor Vehicle operation is required -This position is similar to a utility locator or utility designator and requires minimum of 2 - 4 years of utility locating or designating using many types of pipe and cable locating devices -Mechanical aptitude is desired -Understands OSHA Safety Standards and KCI corporate policies and follows them at all times -Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position. -Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Surveying, CADD, and vacuum excavation truck experience a plus.
