The Role

Overview

Advise and ensure EHS compliance on a pharmaceutical construction site in Limerick.

Tasks

The EHS Advisor will be responsible for advising on overall compliance in matters of Environmental Health & Safety in accordance with client policies and relevant statutory provisions. The EHS Advisor must lead by example and serve as a role model in mobilising the team and ensuring the highest standards of Health & Safety are adopted on-site. -Delivering Toolbox Talks as required. -Conducting regular, formal site audits and carrying out inspections as directed in the Safety Management System. -Delivering Health & Safety induction programmes for new on-site employees and contractors. -Managing Health & Safety paperwork on-site. -Attending whiteboard meetings, client meetings, and site walks. -Inspecting premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment). -Advising and instructing on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.). -Ensuring that a record of statutory inspections is kept for all activities and plant equipment. -Reviewing Safe Work Plans for the tasks on site. -Managing and recommending PPE for on-site employees. -Drafting and communicating Risk Assessments and Method Statements. -Reviewing existing policies and measures and updating according to legislation. -Reviewing subcontractor Safety Statements and Safety Compliance. -Performing incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes, and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.

What You Bring

-Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. -Experience in pharmaceutical facilities would be beneficial. -Recognised qualification in Health and Safety, or similar, is required. -Safe Pass and Manual Handling required. -Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative. -Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. -You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland. -Minimum of 3 years of experience in an on-site Safety position is preferred. -Construction experience required.
