Tasks

-Identifying, diagnosing, and treating turf and ornamental issues as they arise -Applying fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and insecticides as needed to lawns, shrubs and plant material in accordance with accepted industry practices, safety procedures, label instructions, and rules and requirements of various Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies -Maintaining cleanliness of vehicle and equipment -Using hand tools, power tools and/or equipment to perform IPM duties -Preparing and mixing products according to label instructions and product specifications, and using in accordance with prescribed safety precautions and directions -Ensuring the safe and proper operation of tools, vehicles, and equipment; adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements -Maintaining accurate records of products used

What You Bring

-Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. -Must be able and willing to work for long periods of time outside (in extreme temperatures and direct sunlight) -Ability to work cooperatively with employees and the general public, as well as working independently -Must be able and willing to bend, stoop, and twist repeatedly throughout the day -Completing all required correspondence regarding work orders -BMP Best Management Practices Certificate preferred -Knowledge of pesticide, fertilizer, and herbicide products and calibration -Horticulture, L&O and agricultural experience in related fields is preferred -Experience with operating a Z sprayer -Must be able to use hand tools and power equipment -Valid driver’s license required with ability to clear Motor Vehicle Record review -Certified Pesticide applicator -Excellent communication skills and customer service skills -Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management -Knowledge of turf and ornamental issues
