Tasks

-Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies -Provide and facilitate effective communication and information flow with other departments -Maintain housekeeping according to 5S standards -Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments -Provide training and guidance to staff, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively, identify training needs and organize relevant training programs -Ensure that equipment is properly set up, maintained, and operated according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) -Oversee and coordinate the activities of the Bay to ensure smooth and efficient operation -Assist supervisor with staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities -Regular engagement with Quality Control in the implementation and enforcement of quality control procedures to ensure that fittings meet the required specifications and standards -Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action -Conduct regular safety inspections, provide training on safe work practices, and address any safety concerns promptly -Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide guidance as needed -Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements -Maintain accurate records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and quality control results -Assist supervisor with the production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries -Conduct regular inspections and tests to verify product quality and address any non-conformities -Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures -Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs or maintenance with the maintenance team -Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, evaluate new technologies, and optimize material utilization -Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction -Generate reports on production metrics, efficiency, and quality performance

What You Bring

-Forklift certification a plus -Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities -Effective communication skills, both verbal and written -Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control standards in the manufacturing industry -Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly -Proficient computer skills for data entry, documentation, and reporting -Proven experience in manufacturing or a similar role within the plastics industry -High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical or vocational training in manufacturing, mechanical or related field is preferred -Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team -Strong organizational and time management skills
