Tasks

-Attend and contribute to pre-construction and progress meetings -Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, quantities, and documentation -Serve as the on-site inspector and field liaison between the contractor and project engineer -Perform daily inspections of roadway, utility, drainage, and public works construction -Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve field issues -Year-round work on municipal and infrastructure projects -Assist with progress payment reviews, punch lists, and project closeout -Monitor contractor progress and verify compliance with plans, specs, and safety standards

A well-established civil engineering and construction services firm is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to support a range of municipal and infrastructure projects across northern New Jersey. -Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and shop plans -Strong communication and recordkeeping skills -Valid driver’s license required -Basic computer/tablet skills for daily reporting -Confined Space Training -Experience with roadway, drainage, and utility infrastructure (water, sewer, storm) -NJDOT Traffic Control or Work Zone Safety -5+ years of construction inspection or field observation experience -High school diploma required; associate degree in construction technology or management preferred -NICET (Level I–III) -ACI Field Technician -OSHA 10- or 30-hour Safety Training
