The Role

Overview

On-site technical advisor for turbine generator systems at utility/industrial plants

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Pre-outage planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and procedures -Recognize, predict and document potential failures and future outage recommendations -Direct and oversee repair or inspection procedures utilizing the latest electronic communication, references and documentation technologies. -Support warranty administration -Follow up all quality aspects according GE QA manual and procedures -Troubleshoot and problem solve with the support of engineering to resolve customer issues -Lead execution and oversight of projects under the TFA’s core competency -Execute project management and technical leader duties -Fulfill contract responsibilities for designated and qualified skill set (Turbine Mechanical, Generator) -Participate as a Service Team member dedicated to Safety metrics.

What You Bring

-The knowledge and skill to oversee outage tasks/scopes/small teams -Strong computer skills -Ability to obtain unescorted security clearance at nuclear power facilities -Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, work in hot environments, and lift 25 lbs -Working knowledge of prints/print reading, such as manufacturing drawings, P&IDs and schematic drawings -Strong analytic and problem-solving skills -Willingness and ability to travel as required by field assignments -Effective communication to HQs, through company e-tools -Demonstrates a positive and professional demeanor in managing customer relationships with a strong ability to address technical and contractual matters effectively -Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments is required (80% travelling time) -Working knowledge and application of EHS policies and procedures -Experience and training on GE, Alstom, Siemens or other OEM equipment is preferred -Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments -Strong business acumen and ability to sell GE products to the customer -Good organizational, project management, oral/written communication, interpersonal/leadership skills -Possesses the knowledge and skill to actively support an outage and the awareness of where to seek answers to questions as they arise. Has experienced successful installations and outages. -Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals -Willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required -English proficiency required -Valid Driver’s License and passport -Bachelors degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or, a High School Diploma / GED, and with a minimum of 5 years of experience in hands-on Steam Turbine experience. -Meet core competency Level III skill requirements and successful completion of required training programs in a minimum requirement
