JANITOR (UNION)

Overview

Perform daily custodial duties and floor care for Naval Base Point Loma facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Timely completion and accuracy of all work. -Responsible for timely reporting of accidents, injuries, and hazardous situation -Removing chips, trash, and other refuse -Polishing metal fixtures or trimmings. -Dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures. -Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, stripping, waxing, and polishing floors. -Providing supplies and minor maintenance services -Cleaning lavatories, showers, restrooms, windows, and air vents.

What You Bring

-Valid state driver’s license with excellent driving record (must provide current driving record). -Must have excellent organizational skills. -Working closely and harmoniously with other employees. -General knowledge of hand and power tools. -Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. -High school graduate or equivalent. -Mature judgment and ability to work with little or no supervision. -Be a U.S. Citizen or a legal resident alien. -At least 2 years of Floor Care experience (buffing, stripping, waxing, polishing). -Must be able to pass a background investigation. -Adherence to contract requirements, safety and health regulations, and company -At least 2 years of Janitorial experience.
