The Role

Overview

Design and manage mechanical systems, perform calculations, create drawings, and coordinate teams.

Tasks

-Help prepare and modify studies, plans, reports, specifications, and project designs. -Communicate design requirements and assist project managers with project coordination and facilitation between architects, contractors, other engineers, equipment manufacturer representatives, and other team members to determine project scope, feasibility, and equipment needs, and provide operating procedures and technical information. -Begin to take responsibility for project designs under the Engineer of Record supervision with senior staff oversight. -Reviews Shop Drawings and Equipment Submittals for conformance to plan documents and project specifications. -Participate in client, company, and industry events to build and maintain professional relationships. -Model airside ductwork, air terminals, and equipment. -Perform calculations, develop design approaches and concepts, design engineering system(s), and fulfill other duties as assigned through collaboration with junior and senior staff, and senior staff and Engineer of Record approval. -Model waterside piping, pumps, terminal and main equipment. -Attend and participate in owner, client, or architect meetings as needed and visit project sites to verify existing conditions and/or observe construction progress. -Develop Heating and Cooling Load Calculations within Carrier HAP software. -Reviews work for technical accuracy and completeness prior to final QA/QC review. -Create intermediate to advanced system layouts, detail drawings, schematics, and schedules using Revit, AutoCAD or other software.

What You Bring

-Consistently maintains proficient understanding of industry standards and regulations. -Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence. -Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP, and BlueBeam Revu. -Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, AEC industry, codes and standards is required. -Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university and 5 or more years of relevant experience is required; Master’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, or similar discipline, can substitute up to 1 year of work experience. -Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
