Design structured cabling and network systems for data centre builds/upgrades.

Tasks

-Design and layout structured cabling systems and network infrastructure for data centre builds and upgrades. -Generate detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) from design specifications. -Interpret technical drawings, floorplans, and specifications to produce accurate network designs. -Stay up-to-date on data centre design trends, tools, and best practices. -Support troubleshooting efforts and redesigns where network modifications are required. -Conduct site visits and assessments to ensure feasibility and compliance with design requirements. -Coordinate design work using Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection and 3D model integration. -Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and external contractors to ensure project success. -Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, layout drawings, and design packs.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of BICSI standards and/or RCDD certification. -Experience in structured cabling design, network planning, or data centre environments. -Familiarity with BIM/Revit, particularly producing LOD500 designs. -Degree in one of the following or related fields: -Construction Management or Construction Technology -Architectural Technology -GIS experience is a plus. -Understanding of M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) services in a data centre context.
