Lab Assistant

Overview

Prepare client samples for analysis, follow SOPs, ensure safety, and support lab operations.

Tasks

-Inform the Sample Preparation Supervisor of any unsafe conditions within the department. -Ensure proper functioning of Sample Prep operations by monitoring the performance of the equipment, ensuring adequate inventory of supplies, and practicing good housekeeping. -Communicate general laboratory issues to the Sample Preparation Supervisor as appropriate. -Inform the Sample Preparation Supervisor of any nonconforming event related to client samples or other departmental operations. -Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment. -Carry out Sample Preparation procedures in accordance with documented SOPs or recognized standard reference methods. -Report any deviation from documented procedures to the Sample Preparation Supervisor.

What You Bring

-Ability to perform tedious work reliably with a good track record of attendance. -Experience in Sample Preparation at a commercial laboratory or equivalent experience. -Some lifting is required, up to 50lbs. -Ability to read, write, and speak English. -High school diploma or equivalent preferred. -Ability to stand all day for work. -Background from manufacturing/production/trade schools is a plus.
