Manage regulatory reporting, sampling programmes and DWI liaison to ensure drinking water compliance.

Tasks
-Participate in an out-of-hours rota following appropriate training. -Regulatory Reporting: Support the preparation and submission of reports to key regulatory bodies, primarily the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI). -Regulatory Compliance: Ensure alignment with the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations. -Regulatory Sample Programme preparation and maintenance. -Regulatory Sampling programme: Preparation of, monitoring and reporting on risk of non compliance with drinking water quality and sampling programmes. -Monitor and report on Legal Instruments. -Support the development and enhancement of processes to meet DWI expectations and reduce enforcement risk. -Sampling and analytical activities undertaken and results generated -Advise the business on regulatory issues related to Water Quality Notices, Undertakings and the regulatory sample programme. -Ensure compliance with the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations and the Water Undertakers (Information) Direction. -Completion of Legal Instrument reporting steps. -Provide regulatory expertise and support to the WQ Sampling and Programme Reporting Manager as well as the business. -Act as a Company expert on regulations. -Maintain and positively influence the Company’s statutory relationship with the DWI.

What You Bring
-Highly numerate with strong capabilities in: -Pragmatic approach to planning and resolving complex issues. -Competent across a wide range of computing skills, including: -Analytical techniques -Influencing and negotiation -Problem solving -Strong understanding of water industry operations and Drinking Water Quality regulatory frameworks -Degree-level education in Engineering, Science, or equivalent experience in the water industry. Strong scientific background with practical understanding of water quality and public health. -Proven ability to manage high workloads and meet challenging regulatory deadlines. -Plan ahead and employ good planning and management skills in order to ensure that reporting deadlines are met. -Excellent communication and presentation skills, essential for engaging with external regulators such as the DWI. -Be able to foresee the implications of alternative courses of action for cost, performance, customer and regulatory impact and make a balanced decision. -Strategic thinking -Analytical reasoning
