The Role

Overview

Design and develop electrical substations, creating drawings, calculations, and reports.

Tasks

-Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for electrical substations (Low, Medium, and High Voltage). -Develop design deliverables, including one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, communication plans, substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC systems calculations and sizing, and substation grounding. -Collaborate with Designers and CADD Technicians to develop drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes, and project specifications. -Create calculations, design sketches, and redline drawings. -Conduct site visits during the design, construction, and as-built phases of projects.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in electrical engineering and design. -Electrical Engineering Degree. -Experience with electric utilities. -Experience with AutoCAD. -EIT Certification or plan to take FE. -Substation experience.
