The Role

Overview

Lead MEP delivery for large hotel development, overseeing teams, budget, safety, quality.

Tasks

-Identifies and oversees the reviewing issues to drive continuous improvement and provide lessons learned through the knowledge share process. -Partners with multiple key project stakeholders, forming strong working relationships with the client, consultants, trade contractors and other team leaders. -Manages a large team (or several teams) of direct reports, driving the appropriate behaviours to achieve success and KPIs, including a continuous improvement culture. -Proactively drives the identification of risk and the production of mitigation plans. -Contributes to procurement strategies and ensures specialist packages and appointments are procured against the agreed scope demarcation and to budget. -Provides performance management, technical and career development and coaching. -Drives MEP team on the project via demonstration of professional and respectful behaviours, providing clear direction, guidance and the encouragement of compliance with Mace standards. -Directs design reviews on information provided by consultants and trade specialists, checking for compliance, coordination and completeness, including embodied carbon and operational energy associated with the MEP Services design, aligned to RIBA and BSRIA design frameworks. -Directs the initial review of contracts and scope, assists in the preparation of budgets, value engineering, schedules and trade contracts and provide support to the commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle in terms of reviewing progress or resolving issues. -Manages, influences and negotiates with key senior stakeholders (up to c-suite). -Inputs into the creation and deployment of project strategic plans in conjunction with the Mace operating framework and strategic priorities, such as Prefabrication (C2P), commissioning and safety. -Develops and implements commissioning strategies in line with the Mace commissioning standards inclusive of IST approach, ATP’s and soft landings. -Drives close out to ensure all elements of completion are delivered to a high standard, such as commissioning, as built drawings, O&M manuals and client training. -Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work. -Execute productivity assessments using digital technologies to ensure the project/package is on schedule. The ability to identify trends, key issues or critical path risks is fundamental. -Inputs into and drives the delivery strategies and programmes for project phases, ensuring key milestones, interfaces, dependencies, logistics and work sequences are considered. -Drives the delivery of the tendering process and provides expert technical and commercial support to bid teams and sector leadership/bid leads. Ensures adequate internal and external resource needs are identified and agreed. -Ensures the successful delivery of the MEP services including management of the programme, health safety and wellbeing, quality and commissioning of the project.
