SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

Overview

Design and develop multi-family home collections, manage drawings and coordination.

Tasks

-Review the work of Architectural Designers for completion, consistency with the design program, quality of design, and adherence to Fischer Homes’ design and construction standards. -Take a Leadership role in training new Design Team members and co-op employees on Fischer Homes Design and Value Engineering standards. -Stay up-to-date and informed of marketplace multi-family designs, identifying new trends, successes, and failures and maintaining a local and national file of unique designs and features. -Assist the Design Manager in completing regular reviews of multi-family and attached product collections and recommend additions, deletions, and/ or modifications. -Coordinate with outside consultants during the schematic design and construction drawing phases. -Develop preliminary schematic designs and prepare them for production design phase. -Complete New Community/New Product Zoning and Architectural reviews. -Participate in the Value Engineering Review process for new designs and coordinate field walks. -Collaborate seamlessly with numerous departments and teams. -Manage the process for providing design drawings and information to marketing for use in all marketing collateral, including plan and exterior design layouts, interior/exterior color renderings, and plan descriptions and design features. -Approach your work with detail and precision. -Develop construction drawings for new and modified existing designs. -Assist the Design Manager in planning and coordinating new product training for sales teams and internal support departments. -Track all revision requests, coordinate updates and communicate changes to the internal team.

What You Bring

-Experienced in AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, Google Sketch-up and possess strong graphic presentation skills. -Must be able to lift and carry approximately 20-25lbs unassisted. -Must be able to perform repetitive motions and use fine motor skills (i.e. typing, writing) to operate office supplies (i.e. computer, calculator, copier). -Demonstrated Project Management skills -Must be able to sit for long periods of time with low periods of reaching and standing. -Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. -Must be able to use sensory skills (i.e. verbal communication) to effectively communicate and interact with other Associates and customers. -Architecture license preferred, not required -5 years of multi-family design and construction drawing experience -Have a passion for multi-family design and enjoy working in a creative environment. -Can adapt quickly to a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
