Provide real-time feedback to project teams to support timely issue resolution.
Prepare high-quality documentation for legal, contractual, and compliance purposes.
Lead and mentor Surveillance Officers and Project Engineers within the Project Independent Certifier’s Team.
Identify and support the management of project risks proactively.
Investigate non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Monitor contractor activities for compliance with approved plans and quality procedures.
Maintain detailed site records including diaries, photos, test results, and inspection reports.
Attend and document witness and hold points, verifying works before progression.
Working in collaboration with other teams and disciplines to ensure the integrity and quality of the overall design during construction.
Support managers and directors in delivering successful project outcomes.
Ensure adherence to Quality Management Plans and safety/environmental protocols.
Provide technical guidance while cultivating a collaborative, high-performing team culture and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct on-site inspections and technical audits in accordance with the project documentation and relevant specifications.
Report on safety, environmental, traffic, and quality performance.

Current or eligible to obtain Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) and Chartership.
Demonstrated understanding of state-based standards, particularly with Transport and Main Roads (TMR) and/or Queensland Rail (QR).
Current or eligible to obtain Rail Industry Worker (RIW) accreditation.
A relevant engineering degree with approximately 10+ years of experience in infrastructure projects including, civil, structural, rail or road.
Well-rounded communication skills and the ability to modify your approach to achieve positive outcomes with diverse stakeholder teams including clients and contractors.
Personnel with both sound general infrastructure experience or with specialist experience in structural, pre-cast, geotechnical, pavements and earthworks aspects, or mechanical and electrical components of major transport infrastructure will be highly regarded.
Experience on road transport, heavy rail and light rail projects will be highly regarded.
Sound technical understanding of the site-based requirements for civil and structural and rail construction projects.
