Electrical Engineer

Tasks

-Reviews technical drawings and electrical specifications to ensure proper application of products within electrical and electro-mechanical assemblies. -Supports the creation of complex 3D layouts of top-level and sub-level assemblies. -Studies and understands related government and industry standards that govern the products being developed. -Provide technical assistance for prototype and pilot builds along with production support as needed. -Supports the creation of 2D prints and 3D models for piece parts components. -Supports the design of electrical components and sub-systems for power/low voltage products including component selection, wire harness creation, assembly design and installation. -Supports the creation of technical manuals for operation and maintenance of related products. -Prepare Bills of Materials and prepare Change Notices to release components and assemblies. -Performs detailed design calculations to ensure design compliance with project requirements. -Help develop product Bill of Material structures to allow for modularity and configurability of products. -Support costing activities to ensure pricing targets are achieved at the project level. -Produce relevant documentation needed to meet project goals, electrical schematics, electrical component prints, electrical assemblies, and compliance documents. -Interacts with the Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Industrial Engineering staff on a regular basis. -Works with suppliers to integrate various components into higher level system designs. -Self-checks own work to ensure accuracy to established drawing and design specifications and standards. -Participate and present technical information during design meetings or reviews. -Supports service, aftermarket, and installation teams as needed.

What You Bring

-Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and PLC controllers -Experience in the design and development of electrical components preferred -Experience in Bill of Material creation and Change Notice processes -PLC programming experience preferred -Working knowledge in 2D/3D CAD design software (Inventor, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo)
