The Role

Overview

Operate tractor‑trailers to transport, load, unload, and secure freight safely.

Tasks

-Work activities include reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling and pushing of weights up to 50 lbs. -Work activities include carrying and positioning various cargo securement equipment (chains, tarps, straps and etc.) on level/unlevel surfaces. -Performs duties during extreme heat, cold and inclement weather (including rain, snow and ice). -Performs work in an outdoor environment with extended periods of driving. -Will be required to be “on-call” following the callout schedule. -Work activities frequently involve climbing, twisting, bending, squatting crawling, kneeling, walking and standing.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of and experience with ELD’S (Electronic Logging Device) -Physically able to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. -Articulating Crane Certification -Previous forklift experience and certification -5 years of experience driving combination of vehicles (i.e. road tractors and semi-trailers) -Familiar with Samsara/telematics applications -Ability to obtain Hazardous Material endorsement -Ability to work safely. -Exposure to high stress situations and requirements to be available for emergency response as required by the needs of service. -Previous experience and operational knowledge of proper load securement -Ability to comply with all federal regulations, company policies and departmental policies. -Previous experience and operational knowledge of various types of equipment. -Ability meet DOT and Crane physical requirements -Basic use of smartphone applications -Experience operating piggyback (larger sized) forklift -Basic Computer Skills to use Microsoft Office products -Prolonged periods sitting/driving in all traffic conditions. -High School Diploma/GED -Substation Qualified -Regularly lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. -1-3 years of experience driving combination vehicles. (i.e. road tractors and semi-trailers) -Basic Rigging Certification and experience -Safe Driving Record -Operation of manual clutch and gears on various vehicles. -Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with teammates, internal and external customers and suppliers. -Ability to obtain Crane Operation certification -Proficient knowledge of DOT/FMCSA Regulations -1 year of related work experience -Previous experience and operational knowledge of road tractors and various trailers (i.e. flatbed, step deck, Van Trailers) -Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A)
