Overview

Lead propulsion plant integration for Dreadnought submarines across design, build, and commissioning.

Tasks

-Develop a strong working relationship with counterparts in BAE Systems to ensure that engineering information is available when needed to support the build programme. -Lead a range of integration activities across the design, build and commissioning phases. -Support engineering teams across the Submarines Business, influencing design solutions and resolving complex engineering challenges across the interface. -Support maturing of the propulsion plant in BAE Systems toolsets to enable parts to be receipted in the shipyard and consumed on the build line. -Evaluate the propulsion plant spatial arrangement, support agreement of interfaces between the propulsion plant and the platform equipment/systems and resolve integration issues. -Develop an engineering understanding of equipment and systems across the Rolls-Royce designed propulsion plant and an appreciation of interfacing platform systems.

What You Bring

-Bachelor's degree, Master's or PhD in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience. -The ability to apply existing technical knowledge and experience to unfamiliar subjects in order to resolve complex and interdisciplinary issues and make a difference. -Experience delivering engineering solutions in a customer facing environment is desirable. -The ability to step back and look at the bigger picture to pursue the simplest solution for all parties involved across the Submarines enterprise. -Able to build effective working relationships across boundaries and influence stakeholders in other teams or parts of the business.
