Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Conducting construction contract administration and construction review services -Mock-up review, plant visits and witness testing -Review of submittals, shop drawings, substitution requests and, request for information -Attendance of meetings with the Architects, Clients, Contractors, and Trades -Design and preparation of construction documents of building envelope assemblies in restoration Preparing proposals -Preparing specifications and drawings for rehabilitation and design projects -Assessment of building envelope assemblies in existing buildings -Performing building condition assessments, performance audit, asset and property -Report writing and review of reports from junior staff members -Review/assessment, reserve fund studies, design, and coordinating various building repair(s) -Providing technical guidance to junior staff and clients -Mentoring junior staff -Liaising with clients, building strong client relationships, and generating new business -Building envelope design review of the architectural drawings and specifications

-Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with clients and co-workers -College degree or diploma in a related field of study such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Science -Knowledge of the Building Code and energy standards is an asset -Experience in building condition assessment, building envelope condition assessments and restoration is an asset -Ability to work effectively in a high demand and fast-paced environment -Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required for site visits -Experience in new construction projects is required -7+ years of technical experience in building science with proven ability to manage projects and help facilitate business development -In-depth knowledge of standards and guidelines related to building envelope systems and assemblies is an asset -In depth knowledge of various building envelope systems and assemblies is required
