The Role

Overview

Provide GIS, data management, and analysis support for environmental engineering projects.

Tasks

-Interacting with multidisciplinary internal teams and external clients to provide integrated GIS, data management, analysis, and visualization solutions for environmental engineering, and geoscience projects. -Designing, developing, and managing project-specific relational database applications using desktop and enterprise database software; -Automating processes with Python and other scripting languages and platforms (VBA, Microsoft PowerAutomate, etc.) -Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. -Using desktop and enterprise GIS software, including ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, and open-source alternatives, to collect, store, analyze, and visualize spatial data; -Using mobile data collection platforms, such as EQuIS collect, Survey123, Collector for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Field Maps, and GPS equipment for data collection; -Compiling, verifying, analyzing, visualizing, and reporting large and diverse datasets; and

What You Bring

-Academic training in environmentally-related disciplines, such as geology, civil/environmental engineering, water/natural resources, or environmental studies. (preferred) -Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, science, engineering, or related technical discipline. (required) -Programming skills with languages such as Python, R, SQL, .NET, Java/JavaScript, and VBA. (required) -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. (required) -Knowledge of laboratory analytical data verification and validation processes. (preferred) -Advanced degree the same. (preferred) -Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization. New H-1B visa lottery and employment based green card sponsorship are not available for this position. -Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) -Experience with the off-the-shelf environmental data management systems (EQuIS, ESdat). (preferred) -Proficiency with desktop GIS software (ArcGIS). (required) -Experience with the front-end processes of collecting field data with various GPS units and the process of downloading and compiling the data. (preferred)
