The Role

Overview

Tasks

-Responsible for safety training, job hazards analysis, and Risk assessments. -Generate monthly reports as directed by the Powell management. -Strictly adhere to all HSE regulations, policies, and procedures in a professional manner. -Schedule and conduct weekly safety meetings. -Collaborate with colleagues to promote a culture of safety within the workplace. -Report accidents or incidents promptly and assist in investigations as needed. -Conduct safety orientation for new employees and contractors if necessary. -Maintain accurate records of HSE related activities and incidents. -Research, plan, organize and conduct training programs/seminars for Powell supervisors with regard to fall protection, Orientation, Personal Protection Equipment, Lockout/ Tag-out / Confined Space, etc. -Assist the HSE Manager / Supervisor with the implementation of environment, safety and health programs, as directed. -Reviews and investigates accident/incident reports, compiling findings and recommendations for corrective actions into summary report. -Coordinate and lead the Emergency Evacuation / Emergency Weather Preparedness Procedures. -Communicate safety concerns or observations to the HSE Supervisor. -Interface between manufacturing employees and Powell Leadership Team -Develops, implements, and maintains Powell policies and procedures ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Keeps abreast of changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Serves as a contact with federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. -Responsible for monitoring adherence to company safety program by all company employees and subcontractors. -Actively participate in HSE related discussions within the team. -Stay informed about industry best practices and advancements in HSE. -Attend, and actively engage in HSE training sessions. -Actively participate in regular safety inspections and promptly report any identified hazards. -Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) -Conduct and lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT) to include CPR/First Aid & AED Training. -Generate the initial investigation for Health, Safety and Environmental incidents and input data onto the proper documentation to be forwarded to the Management Team. -Conduct daily, weekly and monthly safety audits. -Collaborate on emergency response planning and drills. -Actively contribute to team HSE goals and initiatives. -Ensures timely completion of accident/injury reporting. -Ensure safe operation and maintenance of safety equipment and tools. -Will serve as a member and conduct facility safety committee meetings. -Identify potential risks in daily activities and contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies.

What You Bring

-Able to lead teams. -Minimum 5 years of experience in an HSE role within an organization. -Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. -Business aptitude is desirable. -OSHA 511 & #501 Trainer (40 hour) courses -Strong interpersonal skills. -Able to manage remote resources and tasks to accomplish objectives. -Solid writing and language skills and comfortable with developing and giving presentations. -Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the area of environmental, health and safety compliance. -Experience with certified management systems like OHSAS 18001 or 45001is desirable. -Must possess strong computer skills - familiar with MSOffice software. -Able to accommodate shifting priorities and react accordingly to address current needs. -Experience with ISNetworld, Avetta, Veriforce and other 3rd party consortiums, including data input -High school diploma -Be prepared and trained to respond effectively to emergency situations. -OSHA 10 or 30, in-depth understanding of local, state, and federal HSE regulations
