Conduct training and mentoring sessions for Assistant Project Leads.
Lead multi-disciplinary project teams to provide our clients with innovative solutions which achieve their desired outcomes.
Continuously improving the skills of staff by identifying appropriate development opportunities and supplementing the resource pool to suit needs.
Ensure the principle of ‘right-person-right-job’ is followed when matching staff to opportunities. Work with BLLs to allocate staff to large, complex, or strategic projects.
Ensure opportunities to improve performance are identified and driven forward to realize benefits.
Build a strong brand and identity for Stantec, and coach and mentor the project teams to deliver successfully.
Ensure Stantec GDC governance and compliance is always maintained and that all work is managed and delivered in line with Stantec processes and procedures.
Drive project delivery best practice on the projects being delivered including GDC integrated quality management system.
Develop own technical brand within GDC/regional stakeholders in core discipline/area of expertise through direct technical contribution on project.
Lead project level of effort development/ Estimation activities in line with Stantec GDC’s Project/Proposal Approval Matrix.
Work with the Major Projects Lead, BCOL, BCPL in the planning of key strategic proposals, and in particular ensuring that the right people lead and review proposals.
Travel to various regions as required & other job demands.
Work closely with the GDC Project Lead Community of Practice leadership team on the development & delivery of initiatives for business improvement.
Support the BLL in the day-to-day delivery of projects, including project delivery performance, developing level of effort, change management, risk management, forecasting and budgeting, resource planning and performance reporting.
Ensure compliance with H&S procedures, driving a strong health and safety and wellbeing culture across project teams.

Strong desire to work with and promote globally distributed virtual teams and to foster knowledge management, capture and sharing across the Design group.
Experience of successfully delivering multi-disciplined large projects in Water/Infra/Energy & Resources/Buildings sectors, Experience of engaging directly with end client and contractor.
A “Can Do” attitude with a strong delivery focus to drive efficient, agile processes to reduce rework/redundant activities.
Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, technical specialist and Discipline leads across globe.
Qualified bachelor’s in engineering with minimum of 15 years’ relevant design experience.
Fully competent technical specialist able to maintain high professional standards
Achieve a position of trusted partner with clients through excellent stakeholder management and demonstration of collaborative behaviours
Experience Project Management/project delivery skills necessary to manage a program or project (managing scope, schedule, budgets, risks, resources, etc.)
Ability to make decisions independently (identify, assess, evaluate problems) and strong problem resolutions skills.
Excellent understanding of quality principles and the application of Quality Management Systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum 12 years’ professional experience in the consulting and engineering industry after graduate education. Relevant professional accreditation (PE, PEng, CEng, PMP or relevant discipline accreditations) strongly preferred.
Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to work in a highly matrixed environment.
Expert level of client service management, i.e.: able to interface with internal and external clients and to build and maintain lasting, positive relationships with our clients.
