The Role
Overview
Support rail design projects using CAD, drafting, calculations, and field tasks.

Tasks
-Create preliminary and final approval drawings for a wide variety of railway engineering projects for various clients. Typical projects include (but are not limited to): -Perform design revisions in adherence to company standards, procedures and QA/QC measures. -Provide design support to the Rail Group -Additional tasks include supporting field assignments when they come up, such as site topographic surveys and construction supervision, as well as supporting project managers with project coordination. -Provide design support for various railway and civil projects, such as: -Detailing of design sections, plans and profiles -Performing calculations such as volume and area estimates using CAD tools and provide technical assistance to the project design teams

What You Bring
-Understands topography and is comfortable navigating survey data in a CADD environment -Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills -Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructure -Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools -Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essential -Ability to perform various Quantity Calculations -Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are essential -Knowledge in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Subassembly Composer, Microstation and Bentley InRoads. CADD certification is considered an asset -Strong time management skills and easily adapts to changes in workload -Proficient in reading and preparing high quality engineering drawings and packages -Recent college graduate with a diploma in Civil Engineering (Technologist/Technician) -Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts -Pursuing CET certification is an asset -A Minimum 0 -3 years of related experience -Class 5 driver’s license -Ability to work independently with minimal supervision -Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills -Track alignments and special track work
