The Role

Overview

Repair and maintain flatbed trailers, perform inspections, and ensure equipment availability.

Tasks

-Create work orders on repairs and services providing legible and accurate information for work performed -Communicate with drivers and plant managers to ensure adherence to preventative vehicle maintenance policies and practices -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors -Diagnose air brake air ride and lighting issues and perform mechanical repairs and maintenance to various types of trailers including but not limited to aluminum and steel trailers, dock height and drop deck. -Input daily repair reports into software-based tracking program. SAP -Use a wide variety of hand and power tools, cutting torches and welding equipment -Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental and other Company policies, procedures, and requirements -May assist in the maintenance and repair of fixed equipment -Drive Company service truck to perform road calls, mobile maintenance -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment -Perform routine preventative maintenance services and DOT’s and fill out accompanying paperwork -Must wear protective equipment while on the job -Operate fixed and mobile equipment as necessary -Perform routine brake inspections/ adjustments on commercial vehicles following Federal DOT requirements. -Must wear protective equipment while at the location

What You Bring

-Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors. -Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects -Mechanical Experience -High School diploma, preferred -Bi-lingual Spanish a plus -Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors -Exerting 50 - 100 pounds of force occasionally -Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree -ASE certifications a plus -No smoking or tobacco use of any kind on premises -Must pass physical to include back x-ray, hearing test and drug/alcohol screen -Exerting 10 – 20 pounds of force continually -Exerting 25 – 50 pounds of force frequently -CDL Class A a plus but not required -Able to understand, interpret, communicate, and execute with exactness instructions given in both verbal and written form -3 years related experience, training or equivalent combination of education and experience -Walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree -Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls -High school diploma or equivalent -36-601.01). Smoking and/or the use of tobacco or related products is prohibited in and on CEMEX property as well as any building and/or vehicle owned or leased by CEMEX. -Must have own tools up to 1 ¼”
